SAN FRANCISCO — Twitter is charging forward on its acquisition deal with billionaire Elon Musk, despite the world’s richest man wanting to pull the plug.

The social media company announced Tuesday it would hold a shareholder vote on the deal on Sept. 13. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company recommended its shareholders vote to approve the deal.
